United Games Affiliate Review

  • For United Games Marketing to see any real success, the company needs to ensure that it's receiving a healthy dose of activity outside of its affiliate base. Affiliate recruitment is fine, but United Games Marketing needs to put more of a focus on the actual product itself.
  • Touted as the 'Best video game affiliate program online', VGPMB (Video Games Pay My Bills) is a lifestyle product for gamers wanting to make money from their hobby and interest. The site offers helpful courses on major gaming-related topics from Twitch streaming to buying/selling video games.

Update 11/28/2016:

UNITED GAMES FIREFAN IS NOT CANCELLING ACCOUNTS! The form seems to be a PHONY. I filled it out in September and nothing's happened as of 11/28/2016 and my data is still in their hands for advertisers. IF YOU USED A CODE TO GET FREE BONUSES YOU ACTUALLY ADDED YOURSELF TO AN MLM DOWNLINE YOU CAN NEVER GET OUT OF. WHOEVER GAVE YOU THE CODE DUPED YOU INTO AN MLM WITHOUT TELLING YOU.

We should also note that online poker and casino games are heavily regulated in the United States. It is more complicated to become a poker affiliate in New Jersey, for example, than it is to get involved with promoting daily fantasy sports or marketing racebooks. United Games is a company which designs and markets mobile application which allows users to play sports in real time. Instead of advertising its products, it encourages users to invite other people to use the app by giving commissions.

Apps that u can win real money. We are no longer deactivating accounts.'

—————————————–

United Games may need your account to at least be a ‘player' to get the ‘eyeballs' for advertisers. It may not be in their best interest to allow you to cancel your account. They are not doing any account deactivations. I speculate it's to keep the database large for potential advertisers as advertisers will buy in on the size of the database – not letting you deactivate your account is in their best interest. Read below for what should have been a simple exercise at United Games and why you should think twice about downloading the ‘free app':

Why would you want to go beyond just ‘converting to a player'? To protect your personal data from advertisers? To make sure no one else can use the account you opened? Or simply because YOU WANT TO! But United Games is officially refusing to allow you to cancel!

I wrote the asking for my account to be deactivated. At first they were willing to do so. I sent a request. I reiterated to Mitchell from United Games Corporate in a separate conversation that I wished to terminate:

September 13, 2016 Mitchell responds:

'To cancel your Affiliate enrollment you will need to send an email to support@unitedgames.com telling us that you want to cancel your Affiliate account. This email should include: your full name, your Affiliate ID, who sponsored you, and reason for cancellation. We will also need this email to be sent from the email you registered with. PLEASE NOTE: if you cancel your Affiliate account, you will NOT be able to create another Affiliate account for 6 months. You are able to convert from an Affiliate to a player. This would remove your credit card information from our system while still being able to play the app.
Regards,
-Mitchell'

I responded on September 13, 2016:

'I already did, no response. '

Mitchell responded the same day:

'Okay, If you can get that information for me, I can take care of it right away.

Regards,
-Mitchell'

Mitchell followed up on September 14, 2016:

'I have received your request and sent it into our tech department. Your credit card will not be charged, and your account will be closed in the coming weeks. Is there anything else we can do for you?

Why would this be? First they gave me a procedure, then they said it would be done, and then they said they were no longer doing it. Here's my theory which is pure speculation:

Let's take a random sample of 5000 players (affiliates (A) are technically a subset of players (B), all affiliates are players but not all players are affiliates A is a subset of B,). Let's say that 1000 of them just don't want to do this anymore, but can't get removed from the rolls. So you are down to 4000 already. Let's say that conservatively 2000 of them open the app and 1000 of them actually play and view ads or buy credits, you're actually looking at some small numbers but the advertisers are buying eyeballs in advance based on the database size. Most ad agencies can fake actual ad views and clicks and they do, but in the end advertisers will see purchases based on 1000 eyeballs not 5000 eyeballs.

To me United Games lacks integrity, refusing to remove you from the database. They are insisting you can downgrade to ‘player status' but refusing to actually deactivate the account all together leaving it open to advertisers as a potential eyeball and possibly even fraud!

On September 15th I replied:

'I am requesting it be deactivated. I will file with your attorney general if necessary and pursue the appropriate legal action in the next 24 hours.

You have already told me you can do this, so do it. I have TWO emails on file that say you can do this. '

Within 2 hours of the launch of this website, a hash tagged post regarding this, and 5 days after letting United Games know I would take this action, the following email came, 9/20/2016 from Elizabeth at United Games:

Below is an attached link to an official United Games Deactivation Request form. It is very simple and will take less than a minute to complete. Please fill out the form and allow us time to complete your request. Thank you!

Do you really want to join a company where it takes the threat of legal action to get out or a rep named 'Brock' tells you that you can't? My integrity level won't allow that. I have to be careful because I represent so much more than myself.
So will they process this or not? Stay tuned!
